Generic XL Wiring

The following two diagrams can be used as is for basic wiring on almost any XL. Please note, these diagrams are not intened to coincide with any HD wiring diagram. No effort whatsover was made to make these compatable with any HD diagram. If any of the wiring matches up to an HD diagram it is purely by coincidence. In other words, do not use these diagrams to troubleshoot a wiring problem on your bike. However, if you want to tear out all the old wiring and start over, these diagrams are just what you need. These diagrams will also probably work on just about any generator/points Harley, including many Flatheads, Knuckleheads, Panheads and Shovelheads. These diagrams assume you have a generator with the built in regulator like the CycleElectric models. If you don't have a CycleElectric generator with built in regulator, get one, your charging problems will be over. Yes, they are expensive, but, aren't you tired of being stranded somewhere at 2AM?
